Philippe Simay holds a doctorate in philosophy, is a lecturer at the Saint-Etienne School of Architecture and is program director at the Collège International de philosophie(Ciph). His work focuses on theories and critiques of modernity, the city and architecture, and the philosophical history of the human and social sciences.
He has edited Capitales de la modernité. Walter Benjamin et la ville (Ed. de L’Eclat), Le choc des métropoles : Simmel, Kracauer, Benjamin (with Stéphane Füzessery, Éd. de l’Éclat, 2008) and La tradition des vaincus (Ed. de l’Herne, 2008).
