Geoffrey Pleyers

Geoffrey Pleyers is a FNRS researcher at the University of Louvain and at CADIS (EHESS). He teaches the sociology of social movements and globalization. He is notably the author of Alter-Globalisation. Becoming Actors in the Global Age (Cambridge, Polity, 2011) in which he analyzes the logics of action of the main currents of this movement based on field research carried out in a dozen countries, during the World Social Forums and international mobilizations. He is also the author of Forums Sociaux Mondiaux et défis de l’altermondialisme (Academia, December 2007) and La consomation critique (DDB, 2011).
