Khalid Lyamlahy is Assistant Professor at the University of Chicago, where he teaches and works mainly on Maghrebi literature around political, aesthetic and sociocultural issues in the region. A former engineer from the Ecole des Mines d’Alès, he holds a PhD in literature from the University of Oxford and a Master’s degree in comparative literature from the University of Paris 3 Sorbonne Nouvelle. His research focuses on the French-speaking novel and poetry, autobiographical writing and literary theory. He wrote the preface to the poetic work of Abdellatif Laâbi (Éditions du Sirocco, 2018) and co-edited the first collective work in English devoted to Abdelkébir Khatibi (Liverpool University Press, 2020). In addition to his academic publications, he contributes to several literary journals and is the author of a first novel, Un roman étranger (Editions Présence Africaine, 2017). Link to his web page.
