David Le Breton

David Le Breton is a professor of sociology and anthropology at the University of Strasbourg, member of the Institut Universitaire de France and member of the University of Strasbourg Institute for Advanced Study (USIAS). He works on social and cultural issues relating to the human body, particularly with respect to risk-taking behaviours. Le Breton has published books on the body, such as La Peau et la trace: Sur les blessures de soi (Metailie, 2003) and Anthropologie du corps et moderniteé (PUF, 2017). He is also author in english of Sensing the World. An Anthropology of Senses (Bloomsbury, 2017)
