Isabel Boni-Le Goff is a sociologist, lecturer at the University of Paris 8 and member of CRESPPA/CSU. Using ethnographic methods and combining economic sociology, sociology of work and professions, and gender studies, her research focuses on the practices and structures of contemporary capitalism and the role played by certain elite professional spaces (the world of law, finance, and consulting). In particular, she analyzes the place of the body, sexuality, aesthetic and emotional work in these spaces and the discriminatory mechanisms they support.
On these issues, she has published several articles and contributions to collective works and coordinated journal issues for Sociétés Contemporaines (with Sylvain Laurens, “Les entrepreneurs de la nouvelle entreprise”, 2012), Genèses (“Emprises spatiales”, 2015) and Travail, Genre et Sociétés (with Soline Blanchard, Pauline Delage and Isabelle Puech, “(Re)configurations du travail domestique”, 2022).
